In Nazi-occupied France during World War II, Lt. Aldo Raine organizes a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as "The Basterds" to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis. Raine's squad joins German actress and undercover agent Bridget Von Hammersmark on a mission to take down the Nazi leaders. The Basterds soon cross paths with a French-Jewish teenage girl Shosanna Dreyfus who runs a movie theater in Paris which is targeted by the soldiers. Shosanna has witnessed the execution of her family at the hand of Nazi Colonel Hans Landa and has narrowly escaped and fled to Paris, where she is waiting to carry out a revenge plan of her own.
