When Margaret, a book editor, is about to be deported to Canada, she forces her young assistant Andrew to act as her fiance to keep her VISA status in the USA. The unlikely couple go to Alaska to meet his family and the pushy boss finds herself in several awkward situations that make everything funny. With an impromptu wedding to be held and with an immigration official after them, Margaret and Andrew reluctantly agree to stick to their plan whatever happens.
