The upcoming movie is based on the series of books by Rick Riordan, entitled Percy Jackson and the Olympians. A 12 year old New Yorker boy discovers that he is the son of the Greek god Poseidon. He sets out on a dangerous adventure to settle an ongoing battle between the gods. He enlists the help of a satyr and a daughter of Athena. He meets several of the mythological characters who are determined to stop him. He also tries to come to terms with his estranged father and an oracle that has warned him of a betrayal by a friend.
They have been saying that this might be the next big movie franchise after Harry Potter.
