James Cameron hasn't directed a movie since the "Titanic" in 1997. This December 2009, the wait comes to an end... with a movie called "Avatar". It's a futuristic, sci-fi 3D flick that combines CGI and live action. Mystery and anticipation have been running high ever since the film was announced years ago. At long last, we have a clue what it looks like. The release of the film's first trailer proves that Cameron is still a huge draw.
Remember this movie is totally different from the "Avatar: The Last Airbender".

G.I. Joe's Channing Tatum HAS a Stripper Past!

Usmagazine.com has obtained a video of Channing Tatum, 29, dancing in a Chippendales-style revue called Male Encounter in 1999.
Then 18, the star -- who performed under the alias "Chan Crawford" -- approached the troupe's owner London Steele at a now-defunct Florida nightclub about a job.
"He was shy at first, but he really knew how to work the stage," Steele tells Us, adding that Tatum lip-synched in the act and earned $50 a night (plus tips) during his year-long stint.
"The women went crazy for him!" Steele added.
Unfortunately for them, the revue had a strict no-nudity policy.
Nevertheless, the actor --- who wed his Step Up costar Jenna Dewan on July 11 -- was so impressive he caught the eye of a female casting agent who put him in Ricky Martin's "She Bangs" music video.

Johnny Depp and Tim Burton Working Together for the Movie Adaptation of "Dark Shadows"
by Matt McDaniel Burton and Depp team up for the big-screen adaptation of "Dark Shadows," the Gothic soap opera about vampires, ghosts, and monsters that ran on ABC from 1966 to 1971. Burton confirmed this last Thursday when he presented footage from "Alice in Wonderland" to a capacity crowd at Comic-Con's cavernous Hall H. He said "Dark Shadows" would be his next project, "if I ever finish this one here."
Before Lestat, Angel, and Edward Cullen, there was Barnabas Collins, a 175-year-old vampire who stalked the town of Collinsport, Maine pining for his lost love. Originally, the character of Barnabas, played by Jonathan Frid, was only intended for a 13-week story arc on "Dark Shadows," but he caused such a sensation with viewers he became the lead character for the next four years. The show spawned two movies in the early '70s, a revived series in 1991, and a pilot that was not picked up for series in 2004.
Depp would play Barnabas, a role he told Collider.com has been "a lifelong dream for me." Depp has said he loved the show as a child: "I was obsessed with Barnabas Collins. I have photographs of me holding Barnabas Collins posters when I was five or six." Depp has been pursuing the movie adaptation for years, buying the remake rights through his production company, Infinitum-Nihil.
Burton has also spoken about his fascination with the original show. He told the Los Angeles Times, "It had the weirdest vibe to it. I'm sort of intrigued about that vibe." He also spoke about the recent influx of vampire movies: "It's like any great fable or fairytale, it's got a power to it... There's something symbolic about it that touches people in different ways."
While both Depp and Burton seem excited to start work on what will be their eighth collaboration, production might have to wait until after Depp finishes work on the fourth "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie. Disney's Head of Production Oren Aviv said in an interview with ComingSoon.net that filming will start in April or May of next year, with a release planned for 2011. Aviv says the intention for the next movie is to "scale it down, because we can't get bigger... I want to kind of reboot the whole thing and bring it down to its core, its essence, just characters."
So it may be a while before Depp bares his fangs as a vampire. If "Dark Shadows" also hits theaters in 2011, it could be up against the final "Twilight" film, "Breaking Dawn." But if it's delayed another year, audiences might be over their bloodsucker addiction. Still, it seems that if anyone can create a dark, atmospheric, and entrancing vampire tale, it would be Johnny Depp and Tim Burton.

Werewolves or Vampires?

Werewolves: The New Vampires?
by Matt McDaniel August 20, 2009
For the past year, vampires have been all the rage. "Twilight," of course, set it off last November when it became a surprise sensation. On HBO, "True Blood" is pulling in record ratings for its second season. And next month another series of books about bloodsuckers, "The Vampire Diaries," is becoming a show on the CW.But the sun may be setting -- or rising, as the case may be -- on vamps as a cultural phenomenon because another beast is on the prowl. Werewolves are coming back in a big way this year. First, they took center stage in the latest trailer for "New Moon," the second installment of the "Twilight" series. And now we're getting a first look at Benicio Del Toro as the title character in the new version of "The Wolfman."
The preview for "New Moon" that was released earlier this week focused mainly on Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner), who comes into his own both as a character and a werewolf in the second movie. In the "Twilight" universe, were- wolves change in a flash, and their new forms are entirely animal-like. For them, being a shape-shifter is a genetic mutation, not something that passes by a werewolf bite. And they can change at any time, not just during a full moon.
The trailer for "The Wolfman" shows a more traditional sort of werewolf tale, and not just in its Victorian England setting. Like in the original, expatriate Lawrence Talbot returns to his family's manor and is bitten by a creature in the night. At the next full moon, he changes into a hulking monster, and he has no control over his bloodthirsty impulses.

Quentin Tarantino's Humanizing of "Inglourious Basterds"
Daily News August 20th 2009 - No, Quentin Tarantino doesn't bother to explain why he ignored his spell-check when titling "Inglourious Basterds." But when a man makes a movie this good, you can forgive him the occasional indulgence.
Aside from the name, in fact, Tarantino's WWII adventure indicates an undeniable new maturity. A fairy tale about the infinite power of film, it boasts all his swaggering trademarks: rapid-fire dialogue, gleeful violence, endless cultural references. But it's the sharp-eyed deliberation that makes the greatest impact.
The terrific opening, for example, does feature a hailstorm of bullets. What you'll remember best, though, is the haunted silence of actor Denis Menochet, playing a French farmer accused of harboring Jews. And you may never forget his sadistic interrogator, Nazi Col. Hans Landa (a knockout Christoph Waltz).
There will be those who say the movie is too violent, and others who don't think it's violent enough. But those complaints miss the point. For the first time, Tarantino's blood fetish comes infused with more humanity than shock value. Where history failed, film will succeed. So be warned: This isn't "Schindler's List" (or even a remake of 1978's "The Inglorious Bastards," which provided little more than title inspiration). "Basterds" blends several genres, but is far more spaghetti Western than historical epic.
There are flaws, of course, including a few discordant performances (ahem, Mike Myers) and the intermittent detour into self-congratulation. But if anyone can carry off a complete rewrite of reality, it's Tarantino. And as revenge fantasies go, he's delivered.

Are Zellwegger and Cooper Over?
August 20, 2009 --
RENEE Zellweger stepped out without rumored beau Bradley Cooper at Tuesday night's celebration for her new movie, "My One and Only." She went to Rouge Tomate on 60th Street for the Skyy Vodka after- party and was spotted "chatting up two good-looking guys at the bar." Meanwhile, Cooper brought his parents instead of Zellweger to Alyssa Milano and David Bugliari's wedding Saturday in New Jersey, where Jeremy Piven played drums with the Starlight Orchestras.
The rumored relationship went public just 2 weekends ago when the two were spotted at JFK airport hopping on a flight for a weekend to Barcelona.
While in Spain, the two were spotted arm in arm at their hotel and then later canoodling in a church.
Rumors of their relationship first started circulating after the pair went on a romantic date in June at Antonucci restaurant on the Upper East Side.
Gatecrasher spotted the cozy couple giggling and chatting in a corner booth of the restaurant where they enjoyed dinner and drank white wine.
Zellweger confirmed she was having a blast with her new man, telling a restaurant patron, "He's sweet, really sweet!"
They were later seen working out together at an Equinox gym in Los Angeles, although they left separately, and were quick to dispel talk of a possible romance.
Previously, Cooper has been linked to his "He's Just Not That Into You" co-star Jennifer Aniston, although he claims that they were always just friends.
In 2005, Zellweger's surprise marriage to country star Kenny Chesney only lasted a few months. The following year, Cooper married actress Jennifer Esposito, but their marriage also lasted less than a year.
Cooper, 34, and Zellweger, 40, costar in the upcoming thriller "Case 39".
