Co-written by Evan Goldberg and comedian Seth Rogen, the movie stays true to the 1966-67 television series, in which the title character masked his crime fighting behind a public identity of a newspaper publisher.

The story starts when the co-founder of a San Francisco newspaper THE DAILY SENTINEL, John Paul is shot in his home. District Attorney Frank Scanlon rules out robbery as a motive, considering that John is a crime and politics reporter. Dan Reid is the co-founder of the Sentinel and his son Britt Reid is publisher for the newspaper. Britt promises that he won't rest until he finds out who did this. And so as The Green Hornet, with his friend Kato, Britt works to fight crime after crime...
