Nora Ephron's movie is based on two books, Chef Julia Child's autobiography and Julie Powell's memoir. Powell started blogging her experiences in cooking each of Child's 524 recipes as written in the latter's book "Mastering the Art of French Cooking". This movie intertwines the lives of two women who, though separated by time and space, are both at loose ends until they discover that with the right combination of passion, fearlessness and butter, anything is possible.
